Bill Duffy

Piano (Jazz Specialist)

Bill Duffy spent 10 years in the San Francisco Bay area as a freelance pianist, playing jazz gigs, hotel piano, and appearing on the the Martini Bros. debut album. Since moving to Boston in 1996, he has continued his career, including 7 years as house pianist at the Four Seasons, and 4 years playing in bands on the Odyssey cruises. He has also developed a reputation as a warm and supportive accompanist, as can be heard on cd's by local legend Krisanthi Pappas, and many others.

Bill started teaching as another way of connecting with music. From the very first lesson Bill can take the student's favorite songs and help bring them to life. Lessons often include a few minutes online, listening to the music the student would like to play.

As a jazz player, Bill can break down any style into easily understood building blocks, and guide developing players in creating their own arrangements. He's been particularly successful with adults, who may not have the consistent practice time, and need a clear-cut approach and concrete results.

As Bill always says, "It's never too late!"
